Bring in your reusable containers!

We’ll give $1 to One Cool Earth every time you do!

We’re partnering with local nonprofit One Cool Earth this August through September 2019 to support garden based learning programs for local youth.

During this time period, the Co-op will donate $1 to the nonprofit each time shoppers bring in their own reusable containers at check-out, including bags, jars and more.

“The Co-op loves to encourage shoppers to bring in and re-use containers, produce bags, and bulk bags,” said Sustainability Manager Carol Radike. “We want to encourage our shoppers to go a bit farther.”

The funds generated by the promotion will bolster One Cool Earth's programs, which take place within local schools as well as at educational events and gatherings throughout the year. One Cool Earth's mission to educate the next generation about edible food gardens, waste reduction, better wellness through food, and water wise habits.

“This is an incredible opportunity to align our values of promoting local produce and healthy, sustainable eating habits among SLO County youth with the greater environmental need to reduce plastic waste across the board,” said SLO Natural Foods Co-op General Manager Zack Sheppard.
